Epic Bullets & Bounty Slot (Mini Review)

Epic Bullets & Bounty slot
Epic Bullets & Bounty slot

Epic Bullets & Bounty is Hacksaw Gaming leaning fully into its duel formula again, this time with a slightly larger scale and a 20,000x headline ceiling. Played on a 5x5 grid with 19 fixed paylines, revolves around VS symbols that expand into DuelReels, stacking multipliers and turning standard wins into potentially heavy ones. On paper, it sounds explosive. In reality, it follows a structure of the original Bullets & Bounty slot but with new additions such as higher volatility, gamble upgrade to the Epic Bonus and buyable Epic Bonus.

The base game is entirely dependent on VS and Bounty VS symbols landing as part of a win. When they do, they expand into DuelReels that act as full wild reels, and the two characters duel for a multiplier. The winning multiplier is then applied across that reel, and if multiple DuelReels contribute to the same win, their multipliers are added together before being applied. When this lines up properly, the game can deliver sharp hits. The problem is frequency. Without those VS symbols, spins can feel flat and uneventful for long stretches.

There are three tiers of free spins, triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols. The standard true grit free spins keep the core mechanics intact while introducing a progressive bounty hunter multiplier that carries forward between duels. The four-shot feature adds an external progression bar that unlocks stronger duel sequences and extra spins as you advance. Landing 5 scatters activates the hidden epic bonus, which starts at a more advanced duel level and layers both multiplier systems together.

These features are where the real volatility lives. The higher-tier bonuses can escalate quickly, but they are rare naturally and extremely expensive to buy. The top feature purchase sits at 1,000x, which is aggressive even by Hacksaw standards. That pricing tells you exactly where the studio expects most of the upside to come from.

Visually, the game sticks to a moody frontier aesthetic. Wood textures, rope framing, lightning in the background, and stylised duelist animations keep the tone consistent. It's polished and smooth, but not groundbreaking. If you've played Eternal Duel or Duel at Dawn, you already know the rhythm.

Overall, Epic Bullets & Bounty doesn't reinvent anything. It refines a system Hacksaw has already proven works. The 20,000x max win gives it theoretical punch, but most of that ceiling is buried inside the higher free spin tiers. The base game can feel empty without VS triggers, and the expensive bonus options make it clear this is built for players comfortable with heavy swings.

For fans of Hacksaw's duel mechanics, it delivers more of the same in a slightly bigger package. For anyone looking for something new or less volatile, this won't change your mind.
