Dynasty of Death: Slot Overview
While some deities are portrayed as perfect beings, others seem to have no qualms about doing whatever they want. One who was a little bit naughty by modern human standards is the ancient Greek ruler of the Underworld, Hades, who abducted Persephone while she was picking flowers, to be his queen. In Hacksaw Gaming's online slot, Dynasty of Death, Persephone has bided her time plotting against Hades and has come up with an idea. A game of chess, which, if she wins, grants her freedom from the 'dark and dreaded realm.' What this means for gamblers is two beings fighting it out via the studio's DuelReels concept, where the winner not only grants a multiplier, but may bestow a cash prize as well.
Dynasty of Death's base game takes place in the Underworld's throne room with Hades smouldering blue on the left of the screen while Persephone smoulders blue on the right. Hacksaw Gaming has played around with alternative ways of presenting mythology before; Zeus Ze Zecond is a good example of the studio's experimentation in this area, and Dynasty of Death is another one that shrugs off convention to look a little bit different. Instead of shirtless gods that are shredded to the bone, a cartoon, anime-ish style has been used to paint Dynasty of Death's scenes of the Underworld. From the throne room in the base game to the domains of the king and queen in bonus rounds, Dynasty of Death has a distinct appearance, somewhat at odds with its features, which for the most part consist of recycled components.

Rated 4 out of 5, Dynasty of Death is a medium-high volatile slot with an RTP of 96.27% at the most. Players are able to wager $/€0.10 to $/€75 on each base game spin, while the gaming occurs on a 5x4 matrix with 14 paylines.
For low pay symbols, Dynasty of Death has 10 to A royals awarding 1.5x the bet for a 5-of-a-kind winning combination, then a column, Charon, Cerberus, Persephone, and Hades, awarding 3x to 15x the stake for 5-of-a-kind. Regular wilds appear on all reels, substituting regular paying symbols. Wild 5 OAK wins pay 15x.
Dynasty of Death: Slot Features

Dynasty of Death is a VS game, so be on the lookout for expanding wild symbols with multipliers, some of which now also grant a cash prize. Three bonus rounds add depth, while feature buys provide further betting options.
DuelReels
When a VS symbol hits, it expands into a DuelReel if part of a win when expanded. Fully expanded DuelReels are wild, so they substitute for all pay symbols. Once a DuelReel covers its reel, a duel between two duellists occurs on the symbol. Each duellist has a multiplier of x2 to x100, and possibly a Cash Prize worth from 2x up to the max win. The duellist who wins applies their values. The multiplier applies to all wins connected to that reel. Multipliers are added together before being applied, if more than one DuelReel is part of the same win.
King's Defence Bonus Game
Landing 3 scatters in the base game triggers the King's Defence bonus with 10 free spins. It functions in the same way as the base game, except it has a greater chance of triggering DuelReels. Hitting 2 or 3 scatters in any bonus round awards an extra +2 or +4 free spins, respectively.
Queen's Dominion Bonus Game
Queen's Dominion's 10 free spins are awarded when landing 4 scatters in the base game. It has the same mechanics as King's Defence, except DuelReels are guaranteed to have at least one duelling Cash Prize.
Immortal Mate Hidden Epic Bonus
Landing 5 scatters triggers 10 Immortal Mate Hidden Epic spins. On top of the mechanics from King's Defence, 2 VS symbols are guaranteed on every spin, and they will have 2 duelling Cash Prizes with a minimum value of 10x.
Feature Buys
BonusHunt FeatureSpins may be bought for 5x to make it 10 times more likely to trigger a bonus, or SoulMate FeatureSpins for 75x guarantee at least 2 VS symbols. King's Defence may be bought for 100x or Queen's Dominion for 200x the stake.

Dynasty of Death: Slot Verdict
Players who have been following Hacksaw Gaming's output should be familiar with much of what goes on in Dynasty of Death. The studio has regularly rolled out its VS/DuelReels mechanic on several occasions, going back to the time of Wanted Dead or a Wild, which was released in the wild days of 2021, five years ago now, can you believe. Since then, there have been innovations to the mechanic, such as the Walking Duel and Expanding DuelReels of Undead Fortune, and in Dynasty of Death, they are now able to bestow cash prizes. Able, that is, since the winning duellist isn't guaranteed to always dole out cash unless you manage to bust into the Immortal Mate bonus round, which probably won't happen a whole lot since it is hidden and all.
Aside from the cash prize, Dynasty of Death is pretty much business as usual. VS symbols expand to become DuelReels, where combatants fight it out to apply a multiplier which goes on to boost the line win. It is a clever system, which would explain why Hacksaw Gaming was loath to just use it once and then throw it out. It's also effective at producing wins of up to 12,500x, assuming Dynasty of Death can hit full potential without a DuelReel having to award the max win cash prize. One would assume theoretically yes, since DuelReels can land on any reel, with potentially large multiplier values.
All told, Dynasty of Death's gameplay is dependable, if a little on the predictable side, and it looks good. Even if the cash prize idea isn't tremendously imaginative, the addon does bring something that may tickle the fancy of DuelReels fans looking to expand their horizons.
Dynasty of Death sticks to Hacksaw’s proven DuelReels formula, adding a small cash-prize twist to deliver a reliable, if slightly predictable, entry for fans of the mechanic.
